The Chetwynd Public Library wrapped up another successful summer of reading with its annual BC Summer Reading Club Wrap-Up Party, bringing young readers and their families together for an afternoon of fun, prizes, food and celebration.
All registered participants were recognized for their hard work all summer long and were presented with a certificate and medal. Each child also selected a book to take home and continue their reading journey.
At each program level, participants were entered into a raffle, as well as in a special raffle open to all attendees. After the activities and prize draws everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch of pizza, fresh fruit, drinks and ice cream.
One of the children’s highlights of the day was when Ms. Jody dressed up as an octopus – well done! Kids were also given the chance to take photos with her, adding to the fun and memorable moments of the celebration.
Originally scheduled to be held outside, the event was moved indoors this year due to rainy weather. That didn’t stop anyone having a good time as the library was full of laughter, excitement and plenty of smiling faces.
The annual BC Summer Reading Club Wrap-Up Party is a special way for Chetwynd Public Library to celebrate the young readers who participated in the program and acknowledge their enthusiasm and commitment to reading throughout the summer.
Peace FM/Chet TV was also there to feature the celebration and capture some of the wonderful moments shared by the community.
